Twist at the beginning of the interrogation

Scheduled to begin last Friday, the investigation phase was postponed to Saturday, then to Monday and then to Tuesday. At 4:30 pm today it had still not started.

Criminal investigation judge asked court officials to abandon the strike during overtime. 

A new twist in the alleged corruption process in the Autonomous Region of Madeira has once again delayed the start of the first judicial interrogation of the three detained defendants. 

Pedro Calado, Avelino Farinha and Custódio Correia have been present at the Central Criminal Investigation Court successive times to be heard by the judge, but as of 4:30 pm this Tuesday the long-awaited moment for questions and answers to begin had not taken place. 

Scheduled to take place at 12 noon on Friday, the first hearing of those being investigated was postponed until 10 am on Saturday, the day it was rescheduled again for 2 pm on Monday, when it was postponed again to 10:30 am today .

Defense lawyers were analyzing the evidence, hundreds of documents from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which were received at the Justice Campus today. 

The proceedings were supposed to end by 5:30 pm, taking into account the strike by judicial employees during overtime, but it is known that the criminal investigation judge requested the judicial officers to remain in court for a few more hours exceptionally this afternoon/evening.
