The expedition, coordinated by GEOMAR Helmholtz for Ocean Research Kiel, started today in the seas of the Region.
The initiative, carried out through a partnership with MARE-Madeira/ARDITI, is taking place on board the ship RV Maria S. Merian.
It should be remembered that this project promises to explore the lesser-known sea of Macaronesia and also represents an opportunity for the Region to demonstrate its value to global research efforts in deep waters.
