More than a thousand kids parade in the Children’s Carnival Parade

Today, the Regional Secretariat for Tourism and Culture marks the Children’s Carnival.

More than a thousand kids, coming from eight educational establishments in the region, parade wearing the most varied costumes, especially on the theme of the environment, along Avenida Arriaga, which is well composed, on what is a sunny morning.

According to Eduardo Jesus, regional secretary of Tourism and Culture, who spoke to the media on the sidelines of the parade, “this is an opportunity to bring to the streets projects that are developed within schools, many of them linked to current issues, such as those related with the environment.”

These messages are, as the leader mentioned, “passed through children who are, without a doubt, a channel that reaches all adults”. The leader also recalled that, in the afternoon, the Solidarity Parade takes place, the which also translates into “a way of integrating the whole of society into the Carnival festivities”.

“What we intend here is for it to be an inclusive party participated by the entire Madeiran society”, concluded Eduardo Jesus.

It should be remembered that the initiative, part of the Carnival festivities, had been postponed due to bad weather.
