Passengers with health problems force plane to return to Madeira

During today’s afternoon, two passengers felt unwell on board an aircraft that made a direct connection between Madeira and England.

According to JM, a first passenger who was on board the easyJet plane, which left Madeira towards London, felt unwell and was treated immediately. Shortly afterwards, a second passenger presented the same symptoms, which ended up forcing the pilot to turn back.

Due to the worsening health problems of these passengers, the plane returned to the runway at Madeira airport, where two ambulances from the Firefighters Sapadores de Santa Cruz and an EMIR team were waiting for the victims.

After being properly rescued, the two tourists were transported by ambulance to the hospital, where they were admitted to the emergency department.
