In the last six hours (between 11 am and 5 pm) the accumulated precipitation in Pico Alto was 77.3 liters per square meter (77.3mm), an amount equivalent to a red warning.

Extreme risk value occurs further up, in Chão do Areeiro, where the extreme rainfall in the 6-hour period reached 67.4 mm. In these two IPMA meteorological stations, for the 1 hour criterion, the extreme quantities determined (until 5 pm) were at the yellow warning level: Pico Alto (18.7 mm) and Chão do Areeiro (14.7 mm ).

The persistent precipitation that has been falling since late morning, particularly in mountainous regions, has meant that the accumulated rainfall has reached an amount consistent with the IPMA red warning criteria (more than 60 mm/6h).

There is still an orange warning value to be registered – in force. At Pico do Areeiro (41.0 mm/6h).
