The Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters were, early this afternoon, activated to provide assistance to a young tourist, an individual who was stabbed while walking in the middle of Funchal.
According to a fire department source, the 19-year-old victim suffered an injury to the chest, allegedly due to a stab wound.
The man was in Praça do Povo, in Funchal, where he ended up being rescued by the EMIR medical team and the pre-hospital team of the Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters.
Suffering from a somewhat serious injury, the young tourist was transported to the hospital, where he was admitted to the emergency department.
It will be Interesting to know the circumstances surrounding this attack. I can’t see that it was just a random attack, but maybe I’m wrong.
