Wind has already reached 73 km/h at Madeira airport this Thursday

All this mornings flights have so far landed, but the wind should increase in the next few hours, along with the arrival of rain. 

With the Karlotta Depression approaching, the wind has been blowing strongly on the south coast of Madeira, with gusts having already reached 73 km/h at Madeira International Airport since midnight this Thursday.

However, it was in Chão do Areeiro where the wind was most intense, reaching 100 km/h, following the wind in Ponta do Pargo (90 km/h).

Still, in the last hour, weather conditions eased slightly. On the regional airport runway, the wind remained at 65 km/h, although in Chão do Areeiro it remained at 97 km/h.

However, it is noted that all aircraft have arrived and departed without disturbance.

In Funchal, the wind did not exceed 24 km/h.

It should be remembered that the south coast and mountainous regions of Madeira are under yellow warning between 12 pm and 3 pm, due to sometimes heavy rain, worsening to orange, between 3 pm and 3 am on Friday, due to to the precipitation that will be felt.

In the North, the yellow warning will be in effect between 3 pm and midnight.
