APRAM cleans sargassum in Porto Santo

The Port Administration of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (APRAM) has been cleaning up an invasion of sargassum (a type of algae) on the island of Porto Santo.

In a publication on the social network Facebook, the Ports of Madeira report that “APRAM continues to have all hands measuring and cleaning the sargassum that insists on invading the water body, next to the port”.

The invasion, which dates back to December last year, has been cleaned up by APRAM teams in Porto Santo who have been working “without respite in cleaning up this species of algae”, the publication states.
