Measles case in Madeira is that of a foreign citizen

The case of measles confirmed by the General Directorate of Health in Madeira concerns a digital nomad, of Ukrainian nationality.

The regional secretary of Health and Civil Protection, Pedro Ramos, explained that before arriving in the Region the citizen, whose age it was not possible to confirm, had already passed through the Azores. “What the Autonomous Region of Madeira must continue to do is be attentive to this issue of cross-border mobility so that public health situations that are not controlled in some countries must always be identified”.
