About 20 vehicles were trapped in the snow today in the Pico do Areeiro area.
The Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters were called to the scene and, together with the Forest Police, were guiding drivers to descend safely.
According to what was possible, around 20 vehicles that were in difficulty due to the slippery floor were able to leave the scene.
The Public Security Police are also on site closing the roads.
