Albuquerque case becomes national news again

The authorities have frozen 170 thousand euros from a current account that belonged to Sofia Albuquerque, wife of the president of the Regional Government.

The news makes the headline in Correio da Manhã today, which reveals that the freeze occurred after Sofia Albuquerque tried to move that amount, a fact that led to the bank’s communication to the authorities, under the obligations to prevent money laundering.

The situation, the news reveals, occurred three days after the police operation launched in Madeira and other areas of the national territory.
