The woman’s corpse found late yesterday afternoon in São Vicente will only be removed from the site this morning.
According to an official source from the PSP, the person that is coordinating the entire operation, there are “unfavourable conditions” to immediately remove the body, due to poor visibility, as it is already night, and the fact that it is find in an area that is difficult to access.
Therefore, the police authorities will return to the area tomorrow to remove the body and continue the search, to see if they can also find the other member of the tourist couple. Everything indicates that the body discovered will be that of the woman who had been missing since March 16, in São Vicente.
“The discovery of the body is confirmed and, initially, it will be the lady of the tourist couple who was missing”, PSP commissioner João Góis told DIÁRIO.
Due to the state of decomposition of the body, it is not yet possible to officially confirm the identity, but everything suggests that it is the body of Véronique Blond. “Due to her clothing, everything indicates that it is her.”
