The strong wind that was felt throughout today, with greater incidence in the morning and afternoon, caused severe constraints at Madeira International Airport. Let the thousands of passengers who were affected by the dozens of cancelled flights to and from Madeira say so.
The situation was further aggravated by the lack of visibility in the area.
The situation caused, as usual, the influx of people at the airport, as can be seen in the photo above, and although the afternoon/evening brought improvements in operations, it is certain that the affected passengers will have to find alternative accommodation, or even, some, being forced to spend the night in the airport infrastructure.
After 9 pm, at least 10 flights have managed to land in Madeira. Some relief for those travelling these routes.
