According to testimony at the scene of the bus accident this morning, it all happened when a passenger lost his balance and fell onto the driver, who ended up losing control of the bus on a curve and crashing into the rock. On the other side was a wall and, possibly, abundant vegetation and a ravine.
The accident resulted in several injuries, five of which were minor and were transported as a precaution by the BVC to the Calheta Health Center, while the condition of other victims transported by private means is unknown.
The accident occurred at 5:45 am on a road near Moinhos, resulting in mainly material damage to the Rodoeste bus.
The Calheta Volunteer Firefighters are currently using resources to clean the road that was left with debris from the bus that crashed this morning in the Estreito da Calheta area.
