Porto Santo’s weather radar is now working, after being inactive for a long time.
Over the last few months, several technicians from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) and also German technicians tried in vain to solve the problem that persisted.
However, DIÁRIO knows that in the last month the IPMA intensified its intention to solve the problem as quickly as possible, and, in recent weeks, more German technicians were on the meteorological radar of the ‘golden island’ and, finally, managed to detect what was wrong and resolve the fault in the last few days.
The images of the Madeira archipelago emitted by the radar are already online on the IPMA website.
