A fire that broke out this afternoon in a residence on Rua das Mercês, in Funchal, close to Largo da Saúde, spread and affected a second house.
The fire broke out in a bedroom, consuming it completely. The partition walls helped spread the flames that spread to the second home.
There are 14 members of the Funchal Firefighters, 11 of the Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters with six vehicles.
Residents will have to be relocated.
