In Madeira, the Food Bank’s campaign against Hunger raised 28,160 kg of food products this weekend.
In a press release, the organization’s president, Fátima Aveiro, states that the collected products will be distributed in the coming months to people proven to be in need, through partner institutions.
It further informs that this result surpassed that of the same period in 2023, by 21.8%, as well as that of the last campaign carried out, in December of last year, by 2.1%.
“Despite the economic difficulties that still persist, the response from Madeirans revealed the usual sense of generosity”, he said.
The same note reinforces that interested parties can contribute until June 2nd, mainly through the Ajuda Vale Campaign, by purchasing product vouchers at the Continente and Pingo Doce supermarket checkouts, and through the Online Campaign, by making a donation on the website: www.alimentestaideia.pt
