The third edition of the ‘Madeira Underwater Open 2024 Foto & Video Championship’ started yesterday, also being the inaugural stage of the Portuguese Cup, with the first dive taking place this morning, at 9:30 am and the second at 3:30 pm.
Separated into four boats, so that all competitors are on equal terms, where everyone ensures a dive at each of the previously established points.
On a spring day, where the sun has occasionally peeked out, the diving conditions are allowing for the capture of beautiful images of the underwater life of the island of Porto Santo, where diversity is a highlight. The highlight of the day was that the weather conditions were perfect for diving. Clear visibility underwater delighted the competitors, where the absence of current provided perfect harmony between image and model, in a perfect symbiosis of competitors. The sea temperature was around 20 degrees.
Praised by everyone, this event organized by the Madeira Swimming Association and the Portuguese Federation of Underwater Activities, duly approved by CMAS – World Confederation of Underwater Activities, has been the target of the most varied praise by all athletes, referring to Porto Santo as a point reference and with unique qualities for diving.
