Eduardo Jesus announces installation of high-precision wind equipment at the airport in September

The debate on the Budget of the Autonomous Region of Madeira continues this morning, July 18th.

The first to take the stage was the regional secretary for Economy, Tourism and Culture, highlighting the ‘extraordinary economic performance’ of the Region and the evolution that the regional GDP has seen. In this case, according to Eduardo Jesus, from 5 billion to 6 billion in 2023, with expectations that it will reach 7 billion this year.

“In 2022, it was the region with the highest GDP growth rate”, he noted, also explaining the economic dynamics through private consumption and investment.

“We want to preserve the contribution of the regional economic fabric, following the trend of 2023 with the highest number of the last 19 years in terms of the construction of companies”, said the minister, also highlighting the purpose of boosting Madeira’s industrial parks.

Airport: Equipment installed in September

Regarding air infrastructure, the governor, with responsibility for Tourism, highlighted that from January to May, the Region received 1.9 million passengers.

High-precision wind measurement equipment at the airport will be installed in September this year.

Finally, with regard to culture, Eduardo Jesus highlighted the investment in this area, which is to continue preserving traditions, as he announced.
