About half an hour ago, Portuguese-Brazilian swimmer Mayra Santos completed the swim between Madeira and Desertas (and back), a total of 60 kilometres, the first time such a feat has been achieved.
The athlete left Praia das Palmeiras, in Santa Cruz, at midnight, arriving there around 8:50 pm this Tuesday.
There were many people who did not want to miss this moment, showing support for Mayra Santos and congratulating her on her achievement.
