The Judicial Police revealed today that it had identified and detained, through the Criminal Investigation Department of Madeira, a 51-year-old man, in compliance with an international arrest warrant, issued by the Nepalese authorities, on suspicion of committing crimes of sexual abuse and against the freedom and sexual self-determination of his own daughter.
According to a statement from the PJ, the arrest, which had the collaboration of the Criminal Information Unit, took place yesterday, in Funchal, following events dating back to the years “2015 and 2018, having started when the victim was 10 years old”.
“Present to the judicial authorities for the first interrogation, the suspect was held in preventive detention awaiting the extradition process”, the same note states.
