This morning, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) issued a yellow heat warning for the region’s mountainous regions, effective until 6:00 p.m. tomorrow. The warning has since been changed to orange due to very high maximum temperatures.
The south coast of Madeira remains under a yellow warning until wednesday afternoon, but this is expected to be extended.
