The new pedestrian crossing between Rua 31 de Janeiro and Rua 5 de Outubro is already being placed.
This is a work carried out within the scope of the Reconstruction work of Ribeira de Santa Luzia, in the section downstream of the Bettencourt Bridge and under the responsibility of the Regional Secretariat for Equipment and Infrastructure (SREI), through the Regional Directorate for Social Equipment and Conservation .
SREI, with the support of the renowned architect Paulo David, explains that it has developed a pedestrian crossing solution “with a high concern in the architectural framework and that is a remarkable element of the time when it is built (Sec. XXI).”
A direct access is thus established between Rua dos Ferreiros and Rua Direita, valuing the surrounding area.
