The initiative takes place today and tomorrow, at Quinta Magnolia.

The second edition of ‘Clássicos na Magnólia’ takes place today and tomorrow at Quinta Magnolia.

On display are 25 classic cars and 20 motorcycles.

The event is organized by the Regional Secretariat for Tourism and Culture.

  2. Really cool! The vintage scooters look like so much fun! Would love to see this in person! I am missing Madeira so much, but can’t deal with the stress of tests and masks and possible quarantine, even though I’m vaccinated. It’s hard enough to get there from where I’m at…

  3. We have a lovely 1912 Edwardian car that took me four years to research and rebuild, built in 1911 and first registered for road use on 15th of April 1912 ( date of sinking of RMS Titanic )
    We have had wonderful times showing her at shows and entering in many rallies including Manchester/Blackpool which we won three years in a row.

  4. That was really cool to see. We start our “Hot August Nights” on Monday. Reno, Nevada will host 6,000 to 7,000 classic cars. It is fun to walk around the different venues and see how the owners have taken great pride in restoring the vehicles to their former glory. Glad to see that Madeira has its own version of it. Show the youngins a piece of our history.

  5. True, and Madeira has a fair few, they line up along road near Reads generally on a weekend in August, there was a lovely 1912 Model T last time we went and visited show,the Island has a good veteran car club,which seems quite active.

George what are you rabbiting on about, I need ( and I’m sure not only one) an interpreter to try and untangle what you have written, I’m certainly not spoilt and what I may have is certainly earned, and I most certainly share my knowledge and time for the sake of others benefits and believe that is what I’m doing here, you seem to think not,but not sure as your efforts to get across some sort of point,goes right over my head.

      I have no doubt you are not spoiled and have worked for and deserve what you have. Your comments are from the reasonable school of thought and always worth reading, even if I don’t agree every time. Again my apologies.

  7. Thank you George for the good grace to apologise which is 100% accepted and appreciated.
    Good debate is healthy but it should be about the core subject and not turned into a personal view of the person posting.
    We don’t know them or them us in most cases, we know nothing of someones limitations or backgrounds ( part of my past as been working with seriously disabled people whereby small achievements by a viewers belief are monumental steps for them and need consideration in any response)
    Posting something for what is deemed self gratification from one persons view can lead to a missing piece of a jigsaw for another, some years ago,after a show,someone asked me if I could help them explain how to solve a problem they had with the rebuild of their car,which had stopped due to not knowing how to aquire a missing part, I had a spare part!!!! On another occasion I was able to copy a 100 year old car handbook and post it to them to help them restore some history,look at todays post of clips put together of the Monte Railway to see what shared information can achieve,brilliant.

    As for Mr Lawrence’s view it actually demonstrates how wrong people can be to judge, I’m deemed to have done all and more of what he highlights in his list as needed to replace my ” rich boys toy” hence OBE so he needs to amend his approach to making assumptions based on ignorance of fact.
