Madeira has been placed in orange alert due to high temperatures. Yesterday saw the hottest day since 1949 with a temperature of 35.3 recorded in Lugar de Baixo.
The alert will remain in place till 21.00 Friday . Temperature today will see a maximum of 32 degrees.
