Pingo Doce in Calheta was closed today after a fire has destroyed the cold rooms in the supermarket.
Firefighters were alerted just before 7am this morning and had problems getting to the area due to toxic black smoke, breathing apparatus were used and the problem was soon found at the refrigerators in the supermarket.
