WEATHER: SHOWERS, SNOW AND THUNDERSTORM FORECASTS FOR FRIDAY

The meteorological bulletin of the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) forecasts periods of very cloudy skies.

There is a possibility of showers, more intense from the afternoon, which may be snow in the highest points of the island of Madeira until the early morning. Chance of a thunderstorm.

As for the wind, it will blow weak to moderate (10 to 30 km / h) from the north quadrant, gradually rotating to the east quadrant and sometimes blowing moderate to strong (30 to 40 km / h) in the highlands, with gusts up to 70 km / h.

A small drop in temperature is foreseen, especially the maximum.

Funchal expects periods of very cloudy skies and showers, more intense starting in the afternoon. The thunderstorm is also in the forecast for the Madeiran capital, for which a light wind and a small drop in temperature are expected.

With regard to the state of the sea, the north coast will have northwest waves of 2 to 3 meters, and the south coast will have south waves of 1 to 1.5 meters.

As for the wind over the next few days, the situation is looking a little better, Saturday might be the day with some problems, so if you fly tomortow it might be worth preparing for some delays. Sunday and Monday although windy, won’t be so bad, but it could still all change.
