Grub Up Tuesday

I want to share with you one of my favourite restaurants on Porto Santo. Restaurante Torres.

I will also mention a few more at the end which we also enjoyed very much.

Due to two lost holidays one in September and one in March, I have had a couple of visits to Porto Santo, which I had not been to since living on the island, I had only been there in 2003 for a day trip on my first holiday to Madeira.

IF you can get to Porto Santo, it’s well worth it, just for a walk along the 9km beach, it’s so relaxing, and I don’t think many of us will be travelling far this year.

Restaurante Torres is a nice little family-run restaurant with a great menu selection. A beautiful outside eating area day or night, they also have a very nice inside area if the weather isn’t to great.

The staff are very friendly, and the food and atmosphere is first class.

If you have not been to Porto Santo, then its good to know that prices are a little more expensive when eating out on the island, On a plus side though, the island is very small, and almost every restaurant will do a courtesy bus to collect you and drop you back free of charge, so you will have no problems with enjoying a drink, and getting a lift back to the place you are staying, be it a hotel or property rental.

You can see their TripAdvisor page here.

A couple of other places well worth trying on the island are Casa do Velho Dragoeiro Restaurant, Panorama Restaurant, Pe na Agua Restaurant. Let’s hope these restaurants and many others can continue to stay open through this very difficult time.

Have you been to Porto Santo? let me know what places you tried while over there.
