QUARANTINE REDUCED TO ONE WEEK AND HOTEL TESTS

The mandatory quarantine for passengers arriving in the Region has been reduced to one week and tests began, this Friday, to be carried out in hotels.

The news was advanced to RTP-Madeira by the regional secretary of Health, Pedro Ramos.

According to the same source, all passengers are tested in hotels and after a week if the result is negative they leave confinement in the hotel units, but continue to be monitored by health authorities. On the 14th day, they are again subjected to tests.
This will have been the way found by the Regional Government to circumvent requests for “habeas corpus”.
Today, at 6 pm, at the press conference for the presentation of the epidemiological bulletin, this will be one of the topics to be addressed.

The second person to request habeas corpus, has tested negative, and has been released from the hotel unit where they were doing mandatory quarantine.
