MIGUEL ALBUQUERQUE CONCERNED ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE REGION’S ECONOMY

Miguel Albuquerque said today that “the situation is very difficult from the point of view of our economy”.

The President of the Regional Government was present at the presentation ceremony of the European and Portuguese recovery and resilience plans, in a session that took place at the Champalimaud Foundation, in Lisbon, and which was attended by António Costa and Ursula von der Leyen.

After the presentation of the strategic lines, the regional chief executive stressed that the big problem is to know when these plans will be applied and will be on the ground. “The big problem is the gap between the approval of the recovery fund and its practical application,” said Albuquerque.

According to forecasts, it is only in May that funds are on the ground and until then it is necessary to find strategies and solutions to face this crisis.
