6 New Cases for Madeira

The Institute of Health Administration has updated information on the epidemiological situation of COVID-19 in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

Until October 1st, 1688 notifications of suspected cases of COVID-19 were counted in RAM, of which 1460 were not confirmed.

Today there are 6 new positive cases to report, so RAM now counts 228 confirmed cases of COVID19 in the regional territory. These are 6 imported cases, 3 from Poland, 1 from France and 2 from the North of Portugal.

The region has 161 recovered cases of COVID-19, so there are 67 active cases, of which 58 are imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at Madeira Airport and 9 are cases of local transmission.

Regarding the isolation of positive cases, 37 people are in isolation in a dedicated hotel unit, 29 in their own accommodation and 1 patient is in hospital in the Multipurpose Unit dedicated to COVID-19 at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça.

To date, 14,499 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the various municipalities in the region, using the MadeiraSafe application, 6,961 of these people are under active surveillance.

There are also 5 situations that are being studied by health authorities. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing. • Contacts for the SRS24 Line (800 24 24 20) total 13,064, plus 32 calls in the last 24 hours.

The total number of visits by the IASAUDE psychological monitoring line, IP-RAM (291 212 399) is now 2228, with 183 people accompanied by the professionals of this institute.
