Jet2 adds further capacity to Rhodes and Madeira

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have added additional capacity to Rhodes and Madeira following strong demand for the two islands.

It comes just a week after the company announced it was stepping up services to both destinations, and due to strong interest over the past week additional flights have been added.

All of the additional flights are weekend services.

Ten additional services have been added to the Rhodes programme, with extra Saturday services departing from Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and Stansted on November 7 and 14.

Eight additional Madeira (Funchal) flights have been added, including extra Saturday services on October 24 and 31 and November 7 and 14 from Leeds Bradford, as well as additional Sunday services departing from Manchester on October 25, November 1, 8 and 15.

  1. woah, Ive been a big supporter of going to Madeira having just got back a week ago following a fabulous 2 weeks there. However this does begin to worry me with more flights from the partying north of England where infection rates are very high. Answer- jump on a plane to Funchal and infect the plane load . Yes positives will be caught at the airport but not those incubating. I felt a few weeks ago that the traditional Madeira visitor like us had been ultra cautious since lockdown in spring to make sure we were ok to travel but worry that will no longer be the case as younger folks will now give madeira a visit.

    1. Roger Valentine how dare you say partying North of England. It has nothing to do with it. It is the result of Turkey and Tenerife being put on the list and people have transferred their holidays to Madeira from both the North and South of England. We have been coming to Madeira for 14 years but there was a definite change in clientele when we came 3 weeks ago.

I fear the Covid19 rate will rise in Madeira if Jet 2 increase flights from the North of England where the virus is extremely high compared to the South of England just listened to the scientists giving the latest information on how quickly the virus has spread in places like Liverpool, Manchester and Nottingham plus Leeds and Exeter.
    It would be sensible if people were tested 72 hours before they were allowed to fly to protect themselves and others together where they were flying too.

    1. It would be sensible if people in Lock Down areas were prevented from leaving the country. After all they are threatened with massive fines if caught travelling out of their immediate area. Why should they be allowed to travel overseas and possibly pass on the virus when they can’t even travel out of their area.
      They could do the correct thing and stay in their designated lock down area but that ain’t gonna happen.

      1. Because George Nabbs it is a free country we live in and if I want to travel I will.
