LEVADEIRO SUFFERED A FALL OF 10 METERS IN BOAVENTURA AND IS IN SERIOUS CONDITION

A man in his 40s fell from a height of about 10 meters in a levada located in Lombo do Urzal, Boaventura.

The victim, a levadeiro that would have been in the profession for a short time, suffered a head injury and is in critical condition, JM learned from a fire department source.

He was recently transported, at 6 pm on Tuesday, to the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital in an ambulance of the São Vicente and Porto Moniz Volunteer Firefighters, in the company of an EMIR vehicle.

The fire brigade carried out a rescue operation that lasted more than two hours, derived from the distance between the road and the crash site. He was on site with a rescue team that had to be reinforced during the operation, totaling 13 members with the support of three vehicles.
