The members of the National Republican Guard (GNR) were today engaged in the rescue of the body of a man, who was at the base of the Pináculo cliff, in an operation carried out by land and sea, coordinated by the Judiciary Police.
GNR made available, for the operation, several means, namely the trained dog teams, search and rescue in the mountain, as well as coastal control.
The rescue was carried out by sea, early Tuesday afternoon, and the body was transported to Funchal marina, where it was collected to follow the usual procedures.
