GOVERNMENT CONTINUES TODAY TO MARK SPACES WHERE PEOPLE CAN SEE THE FIRE

The last works to delimit spaces, so that the Madeirans can safely watch the fireworks, are currently taking place in various areas of Funchal.

It is recalled that the measure did not “fall” well with public opinion, but in the opinion of the Regional Government this is the best solution to guarantee security and avoid clusters.

In the sum of about 2,060 posts placed in the city of Funchal, it will be possible to gather 10,300 people.

From Jornal Madeira

I believe this is a total waste of time and effort, as if families are going to not hop from one box to the other, and as soon as the fireworks end there will be a mass of people heading to the car parks, buses, ect queueing up to pay, unless they are all be free tonight to avoid that situation.?

As Albuquerque keeps saying there is no spread in the community, and all chains are controlled, so for the sake of some, mainly Emigrants visiting family, the island has suffered hugely, with no tourism and still worse to come.
