MADEIRA REGISTERS 43 NEW CASES OF INFECTION

Today Madeira records a new record of new cases identified in 24 hours, accounting for 43 infections by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes covid-19.

Of the new cases, according to the Regional Health Directorate, 12 are imported, 11 of which were identified in passengers from the United Kingdom, and one from France. The remaining 31 are local transmission.

On the other hand, there are 26 more recovered cases, so the Region now counts 861 recovered cases of covid-19. That is why 321 are currently active cases in Madeira, of which 74 are imported cases and 247 are cases of local transmission. Regarding the residence of active cases, 47 are non-residents and 274 are residents.

There are 19 people in the dedicated area for Covid at the Nelio Mendonça Hospital, 1 of those in Intensive care.
