All new restrictions from yesterdays government meeting.

Thanks again to Danel Caires for this information.

Despite the measures developed by the regional authorities and the collaboration of the population, to ensure public health, at the same time that we try to keep all regional economic activity in operation, thus protecting jobs, an increase in the number of cases were confirmed.

Thus, it is necessary for the coming days to introduce more measures, with a view to not spreading the virus.

Vaccination is ongoing, but we all need to maintain the necessary health safety rules to protect the entire population.

Opening of schools
In the Autonomous Region of Madeira, the universe of teachers, students and employees correspond to more than 52,000 people.
In the municipalities with the highest incidence of cases: Funchal, Câmara de Lobos and Ribeira Brava, the Government decided that the opening of classes should be progressive, in order to allow health authorities to carry out a concentrated and dedicated assessment of the situation.
In these municipalities, as testing is being carried out, educational establishments will be opened.
We anticipate that public and private education/teaching establishments in the municipalities of Funchal, Câmara de Lobos and Ribeira Brava will be prepared for their reopening until January 11, 2021.
The other education/teaching establishments, in the other counties, open on the defined schedule, that is, on the 4th of January 2021.
The testing teams will begin their work on Monday morning, January 4, in the three identified municipalities, with the aim of tracking the more than 6,000 teachers and educational assistants.
Following this decision, extra-curricular activities in Funchal, Câmara de Lobos and Ribeira Brava, will be suspended until January 10, 2021.
Therefore, all activities that take place in these municipalities are suspended, regardless of the origin of the practitioners.
Until the reopening of the respective educational establishment, a person in charge of education per household, who has to stay at home due to the need to accompany his student (under the age of 12 years old), because he attends an educational establishment in 3 municipalities mentioned, will see their absence from work justified.

Telecommuting
The regional public administration will reduce to a minimum, as of tomorrow, the face-to-face work of its employees, opting, where possible, for teleworking, until January 15th.
Homes
Home visits will be suspended until January 15th.
The Government will continue testing and vaccinating its professionals and users and will continue to limit the mobility of professionals between establishments as much as possible.

Circulation restriction
From 00:00 on January 5, 2021, circulation in the Autonomous Region of Madeira is prohibited in the public road, between 11 pm and 5 am, with the exceptions to be announced today by the Government Resolution.

Opening hours
Bars and restaurants will have limited opening hours until 10:30 pm, which includes takeaway activity and restaurant activity in large areas.

Non-professional sports activities
The guidelines contained in the previous resolutions remain in force until January 18, 2021.

Reinforcement of inspection
The authorities will maintain supervision to ensure compliance with the rules in force throughout the Region.
All these measures will be the subject of a Government Council resolution, which will take place on the morning of Monday, January 4, 2021.
