There are 129 new positive cases to report this Wednesday in Madeira. These are 119 cases of local transmission, most of which are already associated with contacts or contexts of positive cases, while the remaining 10 are imported cases from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region (7), Northern Portugal (1), United Kingdom (1 ) and Germany (1).
There are currently 1,765 active cases in the Region, of which 117 are imported cases and 1,648 are cases of local transmission.
Also on Wednesday, there are 99 more recovered cases to report, said the Regional Health Directorate. The Region now accounts for 2,110 recovered cases of covid-19 out of 3,906 confirmed cases.
At the moment, 70 people are hospitalized (67 in Multipurpose Units and three in the Intensive Care Unit), while 42 people are in isolation in a dedicated hotel unit, the remaining (1,653) remaining to be recovered in their own accommodation.
As for the number of suspicious cases identified today, the Regional Health Directorate stated that there are 375 people who are currently being studied, these being related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
It should be recalled that the Region accounts to date 31 deaths associated with covid-19.
