Porto Moniz becomes high risk municipality for the spread of Covid-19

The figures for the past few days showed that the data revealed yesterday by the Regional Health Directorate confirmed this: Porto Moniz has become a ‘high risk’ municipality for the transmission of SARS-CoV-2, which causes Covid-19 disease.

The eight cases diagnosed yesterday cause that municipality to count 11 new cases in the last 14 days, which makes 469 per 100 thousand inhabitants.

This fact, according to the criteria of the DGS – Directorate General of Health – of the European Center for the Prevention and Control of Diseases, places the municipality as at high risk, joining, therefore, those who were already like this: Ribeira Brava; Funchal and Câmara de Lobos.

Porto Santo, in turn, since Monday, has become a ‘very high risk’ municipality, being the first in Madeira to assume this level.

Overall, Madeira accounts for 785 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 14 days.
