34 New Cases in Madeira

This Tuesday, Madeira registers 34 new cases of covid-19 and 52 more recovered, according to the epidemiological bulletin.

These are 2 imported cases (1 from Lisbon and Tagus Valley and 1 from Poland) and 32 cases of local transmission, most of which are already associated with positive case contacts. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.

There are now 52 more recovered cases to report, so the Region now counts 7554 recovered cases of COVID-19.

Madeira counts, to date, a total of 69 deaths associated with COVID-19.

“There are 539 active cases, of which 18 are imported cases and 521 are locally transmitted. Regarding the isolation of active cases, it should be noted that 23 people are hospitalized at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça (19 people in Multipurpose Units and 4 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19) and 12 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, with the rest remaining in their own accommodation “, says the epidemiological bulletin of this Tuesday.

In total, there are 101 situations that are currently being studied by health authorities, these being related to travelers identified at the airport, contacts with positive cases or other situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM, EPERAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
