This afternoon, a 15 year old male was injured at Praia Formosa, in Funchal, after a poorly calculated dive.
The boy did not notice the shallow depth in the place where he dived, ending up hitting a rock violently. He was promptly rescued, and is being rescued and assisted by a pre-hospital team from Funchal’s Sapadores Firefighters.
According to some locals, the boy suffered injuries of some serious severity in the legs. Due to the suspicion of trauma to the lower limbs, the victim will be immobilized on a hard plane and transported to the hospital in an ambulance.
