Following an electrical discharge on the transport line between Calheta and Funchal – which caused several damages – the system at the Vitória Power Station went down.
Technicians from the Madeira Electricity Company (EEM) are currently trying to repair the damage and start the entire system, according to a source from the vice-presidency of the Regional Government.
It should be noted that only the island of Madeira suffered this general power cut, which occurred at 8:40 pm on Saturday. Porto Santo continues with light.
