20 new cases for Madeira this Tuesday

According to the bulletin of the regional health authorities, 20 new positive cases of covid-19 are reported in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

This is 1 case imported from France and 19 cases of local transmission, most of which are already associated with contacts or contexts of previously identified positive cases.

Thus, the Region now accounts for 8,486 confirmed cases, of which 342 are still active cases.

Regarding their isolation, it should be noted that 8 people are hospitalized at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça (8 people in Multipurpose Units and zero in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19) and 21 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, remaining the others in their own accommodation

In addition, there are still 100 situations that are currently under consideration by health authorities, these being related to travelers identified at the airport, contacts with positive cases or other situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM, EPERAM.

The Regional Health Directorate also reports that a further 28 people were reported to have recovered from the SARS-CoV-2 infection, totaling 8073 COVID-19-free patients.

As for the active surveillance of contacts of positive cases, 593 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the various municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo. Regarding the surveillance of travelers, 9902 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.

The total number of contacts for the SRS24 Line (800 24 24 20) now amounts to 44,865 calls and the Psychological Support Line of the Regional Health Department (291 212 399) counts to date 3278 calls.
