Albuquerque guarantees Funchal Market Night

The president of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, assures that there will be Market Night in Funchal.

Event with some conditioning, which he refused to advance. Details will be revealed on Thursday, after the Governing Council.

I have been told all the Christmas huts along Avenida Arriaga have been taken away… ????

  6. Pingo Doce in the La Vie shopping centre asked us to show Vaccination and test certificates when we entered the supermarket. Nowhere else that we have been has checked.

  7. Interesting, we have been there today and there was someone spraying customers hands but nobody asked about any paperwork.

  9. This is complete madness.Tradition, Noite do Mercado, IS important , of course it is, BUT at what cost? Lets see in February.It is going to be impossible to check/ control antigen tests covid tests etc… amongst thousands of people gathering around the Mercado, regardless of what ‘measures’ the Gov’t put in place. They have already put measures in place regarding supermarkets, filling stations, restaurants, etc etc and no-one is taking any notice. I can’t see anything changing on the Noite do Mercado with people full good cheer, poncha, cerveza and the police looking the other way.

    1. Excellent. And that is how it should be for this mild endemic seasonal virus. Did we have these measures for influenza, which is far more deadly to young, healthy people?

      Time to end the hysteria and start living. If the “cost” of this worries you, stay at home and let the miniscule chance of death find you cowering there instead.
