This steel-hulled sailboat, measuring 135 meters and displacing 5,000 tons, was built at the Gdansk shipyard and redesigned by Robert McFarlane for the Swedish cruise company ‘Star Clippers. October ends on a high note in Pontinha. The tourist sailboat Royal Clipper from Luxembourg’s Star Clippers arrived today, at 9am and after having already passed by Golden Island (Porto Santo) . Departure from Funchal is scheduled for 6pm today, when we head to Bridgetown, after a nine-hour layover in Madeira. The vessel has 114 cabins, with capacity for 227 passengers and 106 crew.
Characterized by the uniqueness of being the only sailing vessel with five masts, the Royal Clipper has even more features. Its 134 meters in length should be noted.
