President of Funchal City Council praised the population and cleaning teams for their efficient cleaning.
Funchal’s Night Market this year generated two tonnes less rubbish collected by 130 operators supported by more than 20 vehicles from the City Council’s Department of Cleaning and Health.
The summary of the party that took place hours before in the city center was made by the president of the Municipality, Pedro Calado, who left words of praise for the entire population who, this year left 12 tons instead of the 14 tons of the 2022 Market Night, although I noticed a lot more people on the streets.
In fact, the mayor believes that there may have been twice as many people there, many families, also praising the organization, from the stalls, to the traditional and centralized music, to the giant screen at the door of the Mercado dos Lavradores, which prevented there from being a crowd of people , the organization of traffic and parking, including the pleasant weather, all of this may have contributed to a well-attended event, but much cleaner.
Pedro Calado highlighted that it was a “fantastic night”, so at nine in the morning, everything being clean is an achievement that must be praised to the municipality’s employees, who had new vehicles acquired this year, to the people who left less rubbish, and above all ensuring that the city is “clean, tidy and looks organized and safe” so that Christmas is well spent.
