With civil construction on the rise, the amount of cement sold in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM) reached, in 2023, the highest value in the last 12 years.
According to data collected by the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira (DREM), in 2023, cement sales in RAM were around 161.3 thousand tons – the highest value in the last twelve years – reflecting an increase of 2.7 % compared to the previous year (157.1 thousand tons).
In turn, the value of cement sold in RAM in the reference year was 20.1 million euros, showing an annual increase of 13.9%.
In the 4th quarter of 2023, the quantity of cement sold in the first sale increased by 19.5% compared to the same period last year, while the sales value grew by 36.0%.
