The birth of the first child, every New Year, is news that always arouses some curiosity and expectation, in this time of celebrating the future. In Madeira, however, 2024 seems to have arrived without a candidate for the ‘title’ of baby of the year.
Until 9:30 pm on January 1st, no information was released (as is customary) about births occurring in the Regional Health Service.
Meanwhile, in mainland Portugal, several children were already born in 2024, the first of which was at Hospital Amadora/Sintra.
In 2023, the first baby of the year in Madeira was a boy, born at 2:05 am, on January 1st, in the maternity ward of Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça.
