Yellow warning for rain between 3am and 12pm on Tuesday

The South Coast of Madeira, as well as the Mountainous Regions, will be under yellow warning for precipitation, between 3 am and 12 pm on Tuesday, January 16th. This warning was issued by IPMA, taking into account forecasts of periods of rain or showers, sometimes heavy, and may be accompanied by thunderstorms.

Also on the South Coast, Mountainous Regions and Porto Santo, a yellow warning for wind will be in force, valid between 3 am and 6 pm on Tuesday.

Finally, another yellow warning, this time regarding maritime unrest, which will be valid for the South Coast and Porto Santo. This notice comes into effect at 6am on Tuesday and ends at 6am on Wednesday, January 17th.

These warnings could well be upgraded before Tuesday, especially for the wind.

Flights will probably be affected from Monday afternoon, and all day Tuesday. I would expect to see many flights cancelled for Tuesday without attempting to fly to the island.
