It was with anger, even with a bit of irony, that 4Litro reacted today to what happened in their last performance, in Santana, which was ‘shortened’ by half due to the delay of the artists who preceded the group’s take to the stage.
The comedians reported this in a post on their Facebook page, in which they lamented the “lack of respect from artists from the continent” towards regional artists.
“When we were supposed to do a show lasting at least 1h30mins, we had to be cut in half because of pressure from Diapasão’s agent on the organization and the sound technicians. Due to this pressure that they would invade the stage to end the show, we left the show halfway through and were unable to premiere our DUO PIMBALHUDO and our 2 new songs”, can be read in the share made on social media.
“The feeling of Madeirans towards those from the continent is always one of smallness. It has happened constantly not only with us, but often also with other Madeiran artists”, they stated.
Although they reiterated their pride in performing in Santana, 4Litro apologised to the public for the abrupt interruption of their performance, leaving hope that the next show will not be ‘tarnished’ by episodes like this.
“The time has come for Madeiran artists to say enough is enough with this lack of respect from outsiders and the feeling of insignificance towards Madeiran artists who always have to lower their ears in the face of these situations”, they concluded.
Well done for them for sharing this, and letting Portugal know that no one is better. Let’s hope this doesn’t happen again or leave the Portuguese artists on the mainland, as we have enough talent in Madeira to entertain.
